The yoga island Vinyasa Teacher Training Program gives a student a safe and thorough training in many of the deeper practices of Vinyasa yoga, not just in Asana. We will learn breathing and meditation practices, and also explore the philosophical and historical views underlying yoga practice. This broad-based teacher training program reveals both Yoga’s ancient roots, and its modern applications.

yoga island Teacher Training ClassYoga island’s 200-hour Vinyasa Teacher Training program consists of 9 modules. Each module is 20 hours long. 18 hours of each module are in-class instruction and 2 hours of each module are independent guided study. The modules begin with a basic introduction to standard yoga techniques, and progress through an integration and application of yoga methods.

Yoga island Teacher Training classes are offered on the weekends, allowing students to accommodatespring2007ex.jpg career and family needs.

Our program encourages each potential teacher to explore the different paths, while growing into a well-rounded and highly qualified yoga instructor.

Our program is 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Registered. Yoga Alliance is the organization that controls the guidelines for teaching. This program follows all of those guidelines and will provide Yoga Alliance Registration to every student who passes when completed.

September 26th 2008 to December 13th 2008

September 26th - 28th
October 10th - 12th, 17th - 19th, 31st - 2nd
November 7th - 9th, 21st - 23rd
December 2nd (CPR), 5th - 7th, 12th - 13th (Final exam weekend)

 

Fridays: 4 - 8pm
Saturdays: 1pm - 6:30pm
Sundays: 8:30am - 3pm

  • if you are unable to attend one of the weekend meetings, there will be a makeup weekend later in the program.

The Curriculum

  • Yoga Fundamentals
  • Yoga Techniques
  • Philosophy, Ethics and Lifestyle
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Teaching Methodology

Requirements

  • Each student must attend all monthly weekend meetings.
  • If a student must miss, then they must inform the instructor that they will be present on the makeup weekend.
  • All students must participate during the meetings.
  • All students must turn-in assignments on-time.
  • All students must arrive on time and not leave early unless approved by instructor.
  • All students must take 30 hours of yoga classes with a RYT and turn in log sheet.
  • All students must pass the Final Exam and make at least an 80 or better or retake the Exam.

Teacher Training includes

  • Unlimited yoga classes at yoga island during the program
  • All course materials
  • All required books
  • 8 weekends of training (160 hours)
  • 10 hours of observing and assisting
  • 30 hours of yoga classes (must take from an RYT teacher)
  • yoga island Teachers Certification when completed

Tuition

  • $250 deposit is due when application is submitted, this also reserves your spot, this is applied to the total cost of the program.
  • Early Bird Payment: $2000 paid in full by September 12th
  • Full Payment: $2,200 paid in full by September 26th
  • Payment plan option: $800 in 3 payments. 1st payment is due September 26th, 2nd is due by October 17th, 3rd is due by November 7th. Debit, Credit Card, or Checking account is required for Payment Plan Option. Please fill out the pdf form and fax or mail in to use this option

Tuition refund: cancellations received on or before September 26th will be charged a $250 processing fee in addition to the deposit cost, no refunds are permitted after September 27th. If you are removed from the program due to an Ethical Guidelines violation, you will not receive a tuition refund
