A DOCTOR IS SPEECHLESS

Every 56 days I donate blood. I wanted to share some numbers with you to give you an idea of how well your Detox diet works. Going back a few years, under an unrestricted “meat and potatoes” diet, my cholesterol level was 180 total when donating blood. I was told that if it passed 200, I would be considered being put on statins. Prior to your Detox diet, but after having started Yoga on 12/30/06, my blood cholesterol dropped to 156 on 8/4/07. I started your detox diet on 9/2/07, and followed the program through today, and plan on continuing forward (day 16-21 section). I donated blood again on 9/29/07. My cholesterol level dropped down again…to 130 (lowest ever), and my hemoglobin raised to 15.9. The phlebotomist asked me what I did to raise hemoglobin to that level, including a question if I took iron supplements. He said from D to A rating, it was A++ level. I explained your program including the diet details, and he explained to me it was the greens, including spinach. He also mentioned that greens are much, much higher in iron than meat. On 9/11/07, I went to my primary care physician for a physical. He looked at my bloodwork and asked if I was on any cholesterol controlling statins like Lipitor, Zocor, Pravacol, Zetia, or Vytorin. My answer was that I was not on any type of medication at all, just 4 supplements INCLUDING theVEGAN Protein Powder. He smiled, shook his head, told me to keep doing what I was doing, and come back in one year.

Also, during the entire month of Sept, under your detox diet plan, I added 1.5 lbs of muscle through yoga, boxing, and martial arts training (sweating at least 30 mins per day). I only consumed your recommended .37 grams of protein per lb. of bodyweight via diet and rice protein supplementation. So much for excess protein to build muscle. I previously consumed too much protein (including whey).

I feel like the “veil of ignorance” has been lifted for me. Thanks for sharing your Detox program with me, answering all of my questions, and recommending John Robbins books

with Gratitude,

Dave

EVERYONE SHOULD TRY THE DETOX

The detox experience allowed me to step back and take an introspective look at my relationship with food, including unhealthy habits formed through the years. I needed to do this for my body, my mind and general health. In my opinion, everyone needs to try it at least once—Julie Sheriff
